Mobile apps

An iOS and Android app for your customers or your staff, built alongside the system it talks to. It is a separate piece of work with its own price, and that is the most useful thing on this page.

Is this what you need?

This is for you if

  • Your customers would use an app weekly — booking, ordering, tracking, membership — rather than once and then never again.
  • Your staff need something on a phone in a van, a kitchen or a warehouse.
  • There is already a system, or there is about to be one, for the app to talk to.

This is probably not for you if

  • A mobile-friendly website would do the same job. For most small businesses it would, and it costs a fraction of this.
  • You want an app because a competitor has one. That is the most expensive reason to build software, and it is the one nobody is glad of a year later.
  • You are hoping it comes free inside a website package. It never does here — see below.

How we build them

One codebase, both platforms, and the same process as any other build.

  1. React Native, so iOS and Android come out of one codebase rather than being quoted twice.
  2. Scoped in a discovery sprint first, exactly like custom software, because an app is custom software with a store submission at the end.
  3. Built against the same system as your website or portal, so there is one set of data rather than two that disagree.
  4. Submitted to both stores, with the accounts in your name — you own the listing, not us.

What it costs

A starting price, and it is deliberately not part of any website package. Bundling an app into a small website price was the single worst pricing decision this business ever made, and unbundling it is why the packages can be fixed-price at all.

Functionality

  • Companion mobile app£8,000 + VAT

iOS and Android, React Native. From this price, scoped in discovery.

The real number comes out of the discovery sprint, because an app's cost is mostly a function of what it has to do rather than which platforms it runs on.

None of our published case studies is an app yet, so there is not one to show you here.
